Does ECC loan assistive technology to students?158 views

The Student Access & Disability Services (SDS) Office offers a limited number of assistive technology devices to support your learning at ECC. These include Livescribe pens, audio recorders, and other helpful tools that can make studying and note-taking easier.

If you would like to borrow an assistive device for the semester, please contact the SDS Office to review eligibility requirements:

The ECC Library also provides a dedicated computer station equipped with:

  • Screen-reading software (reads text aloud)

  • Screen magnification software (enlarges on-screen content)

  • Speech-to-text software (types what you say)

  • A CCTV magnifier (enlarges printed materials)

These resources are available to all ECC students who need them for homework or study support. For assistance or training on how to use these tools, please contact sds@elgin.edu or call 847-214-7717.
