transcript honors

We welcome all ECC students who are passionate about learning and believe they would thrive in our Honors community to apply. While certain criteria guarantee admission (listed below), we encourage others interested in joining to complete the application process.

To be part of the Honors Program, maintain a 3.25 GPA each semester. Students are encouraged to take at least three credit hours of ECC honors coursework in their first two semesters, and an additional three credit hours each subsequent year.

New Students: New first-time college applicants need to only meet one of the following criteria for guaranteed admission into the Honors Program:

  • Cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • ACT® composite score of 25.
  • SAT score of 1710 or higher (if taken before March 2016), or new SAT score of 1230 or higher (if taken after March 2016).

Current Students: Current ECC applicants who have completed at least 6 credit hours of college-level course work with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher will be guaranteed admission into the Honors Program.

Transfer Students: New transfer applicants who have earned at least 6 hours of formally articulated, college-level course work at another institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher will be guaranteed admission into the Honors Program. Please note: This program is not currently available to incoming dual credit students due to scheduling and registration limitations.
