High School Equivalency enrollment HSE/GED

To register for classes to prepare for the High School Equivalency (HSE/GED®), please complete our form to start the process. Then, enter the front desk in Building K at 410 Renner Drive in Elgin to complete the intake process. Keep in mind, the college is closed on Fridays during the summer. You must bring a photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or government-issued ID). If you are 16 or 17, please bring a separation letter from your high school. Bring your DHS medical card or LINK card if you receive public assistance. You cannot be currently enrolled in high school to attend adult education classes. Once a student has completed intake, they will sign up for a time to take a placement test that may take up to five hours. Students will also attend a mandatory orientation at a later date that will last up to two hours before they will be able to complete registration.
